NNOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dang, we just can't catch a break!  Lynn was struggling today, trying to plant in the mud.  Lots of breakdowns.  At 11:00, he'd been out there for 4 hours and did 4 acres.  A little while later it started to POUR!  There's water sitting everywhere again as there is just nowhere for it to go.  :(

And now that the ground is thoroughly saturated again, it's sunny!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

After last years' drought, I feel a bit guilty even thinking that, but...geez!  We had a small dry spell there that didn't even give us time to get those dancing shoes on.  It's been raining pretty good since...oh, noon or before.

Lynn's been trying to plant around wet spots.  When he gets into mud, the planter gets plugged and needs to be pressure sprayed out.  Takes precious time away from planting.

If we ever get caught up, Lynn's plan is to put up a shed/machine shop.  Not sure of the size yet.

Get Ready for the Happy Dance!

When it will come we don't know, but we know from years of experience that it will come!  Farmer's faith.

Tried to plant around wet spots, but got plugged with mud anyway.  Planter had to be pressure-sprayed out.  I think he had four breakdowns yesterday.  Rain today.

He bought another used HyVee semi today.  Not sure what he's doing with Chuck's truck yet.  Anybody need an old semi with a sleeper?

Anyway, plenty of time to polish off our dancing shoes for that wonderful last day of planting--whenever it comes!

Prayers for Farmers, pretty please?

Lynn got in the field yesterday and sprayed.  Today is planting day.  Broke down by 9:00 AM.  80% chance of rain tomorrow.  This breakdown is really a bummer as time is running short.

As planting season wears thin, farmers will be working harder, longer hours, less sleep, not eating right and it's all wearing, not to mention down-right dangerous.  Please be patient on the road and keep us in your prayers.

No Progress!

It's still plenty wet out there.  Lots of standing water. Glad we aren't in OK where they continue to have tornados that are leaving folks dead.  Prayers go out to them.  There is an 80% chance of rain today, so it will likely be awhile before we get the beans in.  Corn is growing!

Had a spot of sunshine and caught this bumble bee doing the splits.  That term busy as a bee?  Well, I learned where that came from whilst chasing these guys around and trying to get a shot!

What a beautiful micro-world this guy lives in...

Getting Nowhere Fast

Dang!  Had a bunch of pictures for you and stuff and there was a glitch in the system!  I just decided to try again as we need to get ahold of our landlords, Chuch and Jan, ASAP!  Call when you get this.

Anyway, rain, rain, rain!  The grass is tall and I can't even mow as it's too muddy.  Got a great new mower, though, and it's been F U N!  Springs on all fours makes a pretty nice ride on this bumpy earth!

Here are some photos I've been working on that I took in the yard, anyway.  I could be washing windows, but....naw!!!  (please remember that my photos are my property and not to be shared or used in any way)
